Darwin

The NT Capital became our home for over a week, a good place to stop and unwind for a while. Most of the time we didn’t do much more than nothing. Oh, there was one rather exciting game of football on the day we arrived AFL Grand final and that was worth watching YELLOW and BLACK!!.

We drove into the Caravan park on the Stuart Hwy just south of Darwin City with little more than a one hour to spare before the AFL grand final. Caught up with Cat, Adrian and the boys, the number one priority however was to find a large TV to watch the grand final between Richmond and Adelaide. It has been 37 years in the making but finally the Tiger Army had something to celebrate. I can proudly say I have been a member of that Tiger Army before the last premiership in 1980.

It also has been 28 years since I have been to Darwin and for Joanne this was her first time. We visited a lot of the historical locations including WW2 bombing and cyclone Tracy. In addition to this we had the opportunity for a guided tour aboard the newest vessel in the Sea Shepherd’s fleet.
