Alexander Bay

For the first time we are stopping for a while not because we must but because we want to. Alexander Bay was our home for eight whole days to relax and explore.

Alexander Bay is about 100km east of Esperance and forms part of the coast fronting Recherche Archipelago Nature Reserve. It was windy, but we found a small sheltered spot back in the dunes. Relax we did but explore we most definitely did despite the wind and sometimes cooler than expected rainy days.

We both hiked across three beaches and headland to the west. Kayaking up the small creek which was half way along Alexander Bay beach.

Chris rode his bike 18km along the beach and kayaked out to Ben Island to snorkel a large rockpool that some locals had informed him about.
