We, Chris and Joanne will be travelling around this ancient land for two years. As we do we will be standing in footsteps millennia old. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first Australians and traditional custodians of this vast land. We will undertake to show respect for the traditional custodians as we venture on their lands, who’s culture and customs have nurtured this land since men and women awoke from the great dream. We pay respect to the Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and the hopes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the nation.

Our hope is we will meet many traditional custodians in our travels to enrich our understanding of their unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas. Our hope is also these meetings will forge friendships that will in some small way assist in the process of reconciliation.
