You can’t really visit Bali without spending some time in Ubud. We had been in Ubud for only a day when we heard the news of the second significant eruption of Mount Agung, which caused closure of Lombok and Bali international airports and the further displacement of many Balinese.
Ubud was an enjoyable cultural experience; attending museums, dance presentations but our scooter trips around the district we stumbled on Hindu street ceremonies and other interesting things.
There was also time for shopping, more exceptional eating and massages.
