Uluru and Kata Tjuta

It would be remiss to travel the country and not visit the ‘Rock’.

This was our first visit to Uluru, so it goes without saying this was a bucket list item for both of us. Arriving on Christmas Day was also special, to celebrate the special occasion we went out for dinner at Ayers Rock Resort, Yulara dining on vegetarian pizzas. While climbing Uluru was still optional we chose to not climb out of respect of the Anangu people.

We did have a wonderful three days, which included sunrise and sunset viewing of Uluru, cycle around the base of the rock. Walk through one of the gorges at Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), we were also lucky to experience an amazing central Australian thunderstorm.
