SCUBA the GBR

How could one possibly travel around Australia and not dive the Great Barrier Reef. So while in Cairns we took the opportunity and participated in one of the Dive charters available.

One shouldn’t use acronyms in a heading but I could help myself. Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA) the Great Barrier Reef (GBR)

Joanne was a little reluctant to come come along on the boat trip out to the reef, but I am so glad she did. Joanne is very prone to seasickness, however she handled the trip out and back with easy. She even enjoyed the onboard lunch provided and jumped in and did some snorkelling.

The diving was worthwhile, probably not my best GBR experience, but in fairness any dive on the GBR is a very good dive. I had three dives, the first two were on Norman Reef and the final dive after lunch on Saxon Reef.

To add to the trip we saw a couple of whales swim past as we started our journey back to Cairns Port.
